Halloween Delights Tuesday 2023/10/31 

Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries such as Canada, the USA, the UK, Australia and New Zealand on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Saints’ Day. It begins the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

Popular Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising and souling), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins or turnips into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror or Halloween-themed films. Some people practice the Christian observances of All Hallows' Eve, including attending church services and lighting candles on the graves of the dead, although it is a secular celebration for others. Some Christians historically abstained from meat on All Hallows' Eve, a tradition reflected in the eating of certain vegetarian foods on this vigil day, including apples, potato pancakes, and soul cakes.

The main theme of Halloween is about ghosts, scare, and  related to death, magic, monsters. Usually, things that related to Halloween are pumpkin, ghostbusters, ghoul, witch, bat, black cat, owl, elf, zombie, skeleton, demon. vampire and Frankenstein. Black and orange are the traditional colours of Halloween. However, modern products use a lot of purple, green and red. Autumn elements such as pumpkin and scarecrow are symbol of Halloween.

This year Halloween falls on Tuesday November 31, 2023, I Chef Kar made my new creative Halloween Delights to share with my old friend Sunny and other good friends.

Ingredients:

1. Pumpkin Cakes + Bat Cookie + Ghostbusters Cookies

Pumpkin Cake:
Body: Pumpkin puree, bulgur fine , butter, nutmeg, sugar, salt
Stem: Dark rye flour, all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks, pure vanilla extract 



Bat Cookie: Dark rye flour, all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks, pure vanilla extract



Ghostbusters Cookie: all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, sugar, salt, egg yolks, pure vanilla extract

2. Haunted House Bread + Ghostbusters Breads

Haunted House Bread:

Body: Dark rye flour, all-purpose flour, yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt, water
Roof , Windows & Door: all-purpose flour, yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt, water

Ghostbusters Bread:
Body: all-purpose flour, yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt, water
Eyes: Hershey’s Cocoa dark
Mouth: Pumpkin puree, all-purpose flour

Rose Pumpkin Pie:

Pie crest: phyllo dough, unsalted butter
Fillings: pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, dark brown sugar, sugar, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, salt

4. Traditional Pumpkin Pie + Bat Cookie + Ghostbusters Cookie

Traditional Pumpkin Pie:

Pie crest (Butter Puff dough): all-purpose flour, corn starch, salt, water, unsalted butter
Fillings: pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, dark brown sugar, sugar, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, salt

5. Bird Nest Pumpkin Pie + Bat Cookie + Ghostbusters Cookie 

Bird Nest Pumpkin Pie:

Pie crest: Kataifi shredded fillo dough, unsalted butter

Fillings: pumpkin puree, eggs, milk, dark brown sugar, sugar, pure vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, salt
