Creative《 Colourful Flaxseed Delights》Part 1 of 2
I Chef Kar prepared my creative Colourful Flaxseed Delights for a total of 11 styles. Each style used different fruits and vegetable to pair with flaxseed. I used 10 types of vegetable and fruits with different colours to make various style , fragrant and taste of delights to achieve completeness of colour, fragrant and taste. The presence of flaxseed makes ordinary fruit and vegetable become unusual. These 10 colours are green, gold, red, orange, light green, blue, purple, black and white. This episode divides to 2 parts.
Although flaxseed contains all sorts of healthy components, it owes its primary healthy reputation to three of them: Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flaxseed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.
Lignans, which have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities. Flaxseed contains 75 to 800 times more lignans than other plant foods.
Fiber. Flaxseed contains both the soluble and insoluble types.
Recent studies have suggested that flaxseed may have a protective effect against breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.
The lignans in flaxseed may provide some protection against cancers that are sensitive to hormones without interfering with the breast cancer drug tamoxifen.
Research suggests that plant omega-3s help the cardiovascular system through several different mechanisms, including anti-inflammatory action and normalizing the heartbeat.
Several studies have suggested that diets rich in flaxseed omega-3s help prevent hardening of the arteries and keep plaque from being deposited in the arteries partly by keeping white blood cells from sticking to the blood vessels’ inner linings.

Flaxseed Delight 1: Green
《Green Wilderness of Flaxseed》
The main colour is green, diffusing the fragrant of flaxseed, mild bitterness of spinach, peppery taste of parsley, sweetness of purple yam and nutty taste of taro.
Ingredients: flaxseed (grounded), spinach, curly parsley leaves, areca taro, purple yam, Thai glutinous rice, salt, sugar, green onion, garlic
Preparation: Mash spinach leaves, parsley leaves, green onion and garlic, and mix well with cooked glutinous rice. Add salt and sugar. Make the rice mixture into 7 inch x 8 inch thin piece. Use it to wrap around cooked taro and purple yam. Sprinkle some grounded flaxseed. Cut the roll to 6 piece. Finally garnish with parsley leaves and stems.
Flaxseed Delight 2: Golden
《Golden Mango In The Field Of Flaxseed》
The main colour is golden, diffusing the fragrance of flaxseed, sweetness of mango, fragrance of olive oil and fragrance of palam oil.sIngredients: flaxseed, Thai glutinous rice, Ataulfo Mangos, flour, rice flour, olive oil, palm oil, canola oil, sugar, salt
Puff pastry dough: flour, rice flour, glutinous rice flour, olive oil, palm oil, canola oil, sugar, salt.Preparation: Put all the ingredients in a container, add some water and mix well. Knead the dough until not sticky. Flatten a small piece of dough in a tart cup. Put the tart cup in the fridge for 1 hour. Place it in the oven to bake at 350°F until puffy.
Fillings: flaxseed, Thai rice, Ataulfo MangosPreparation: Smash mango puree, mix well with glutnous rice and flaxseed powder. Add sugar and salt and mix well. Sprinkle some flaxseed powder on top., Finally, garnish with one cube of mango puree on top.
Flaxseed Delight 3: Red
《Flaxseed In Red》
The main colour is red, diffusing fragrance of flaxseed, sweetness and sourness of raspberry, sweetness of beets and fragrance of olive oil.
Ingredients: flaxseed, Chinese red glutinous rice, Thai glutinous rice, raspberry, beets, four, yeast, olive oil, sugar, salt
Bread: flour, yeast, raspberries juice, beet juice, olive oil, sugar and saltPreparation: First, ground the raspberries with some water, and strain out the seeds. Put the juice in a blender. Cook beets and cut into small pieces and add the blender. Add some water, sugar and salt. Blend to juice. Put all the ingredients in a container, add some water and mix well, knead to a non-sticky ball. Cover the container with cloth. Wait for the doughto double in size. Cut the dough into small pieces. Make each piece to the shape of a tart. Place them on a steaming tray with oil. After one hour, put the tart dough in a steamer to cook well. Sprinkle the steamed bread with juice of rapsberries and beets.
Fillings of Bread : flaxseed flour, Chinese red glutinous rice, Thai glutinous rice, raspberries, beetsPreparation: Put juice of raspberry and beet, Thai glutinous rice and flaxseed powder in a blender and mix well. Add sugar and salt, mix well. Put the glutinous rice mixture on the top of tart shaped bread, and sprinkle with flaxseed powder. Finally put red sticky rice and raspberries on top.
Flaxseed Delight 4: Orange
《Flaxseed With Grapefruit》
The main colour is orange, diffusing the fragrance of flaxseed, sweetness and sourness of grapefruit, and fragrance of cantaloupe,
Ingredients:flaxseed, Japanese glutinous rice, tangerines, grapefruit, orange, cantaloupe, carrots, semolina, red lentils, orange sweet potatoes, olive oil, sugar, salt
Cookie: semolina, red lentils, orange sweet potatoes, olive oil, sugar, saltPreparation: First steam red lentils and orange sweet potatoes. Put the cooked red lentils and orange sweet potatoes in a blender, add water and mashed to paste. Mix all the ingredients, and make into tart shape. Bake in the oven to make tart shaped cookies.
Fillings: flaxseed, Japanese glutinous rice, tangerines, grapefruit, orange, cantaloupe, carrots
Preparation: Mash tangerines, grapefruit, orange and some tangerine peel. Mix well with glutinous rice and flaxseed powder. Add sugar and salt. Sprinkle some flaxseed powder on top, carrot thin slices, tangerine, grapefruit and orange puree. Finally, garnish with cantaloupe cube.

Flaxseed Delight 5: Yellow
《Flaxseed With Pineapple》
The main colour is yellow, diffusing sourness and fragrance of pineapple, fragrance of honey. I created split peas cookies as the base.Ingredients: flaxseed, pineapple, honey, Japanese glutinous rice, turmeric, couscous, split peas, yellow sweet potatoes, semolina, olive oil, nutmeg, sugar, salt

Split pea cookies: split peas, yellow sweet potatoes, semolina, olive oil, nutmeg, sugar, saltPreparation: Steam split peas and yellow sweet potatoes。 Put cooked split peas and sweet potatoes in a blender, add little water and blend to paste. Mix all the ingredients well, and separate the dough to small piece and make a tart shape. Put in oven to bake to tart cookies.
Fillings: flaxseed, pineapple, honey, Japanese glutinous rice, turmeric, couscous, sugar, saltPreparation: Cook couscous and glutinous rice. Smash pineapple puree and turmeric. Mix well with cooked couscous, glutinous rice and flaxseed powder. Add sugar and salt, and honey. Sprinkle some flaxseed seed powder. Garnish with pineapple puree.
